Lote lends his support to his Heritage!

Lote Tuqiri will swap his usual sporting attire of a footy jersey for a Pirates "Heritage" singlet and participate in the Pirate's Heritage game at the Pirate Ship on the 1st of April 2016. Lote is the cousin of one of the greatest players the club has produced, Peni Nasalo.

When Peni came up with idea of using the Heritage game as a vehicle to raise funds for the families affected by cyclone Winston, Lote was the first to offer his support. Organisers are negoiating with a few more high profile athletes willing to take the court.

The event has been registered with the Red Cross "Tropical Cyclone Winston Appeal". Five dollars from every "Single Entry" ticket and ten dollars from every "Family Entry" ticket sold will be donated to the Red Cross, "Tropical Cyclone Winston Appeal". There will be signed celebrity singlet auctions and the opportunity to buy the "Heritage" singlets. All funds raised by the celebrity singlet auctions will be donated to the appeal as well $5 from every "Heritage" singlet sold. There will be other fundraising activities run throughout the evening, so please come along and support a great cause!

The evening will feature two games (mens and womens) of past players with a few celebrity athletes, playing current Pirate players. The "Heritage" singlets have been made with the names of every player, coach and manager involved in the Pirates QBL since 2002, as well as the names of all the club's life members. Single Entry is $12, children under 18 is a gold coin donation and a Family Entry (2 adults and 2 children) is $20

The response so far has been overwhelming since Peni put the "shout out" for support. Over 5000 people have been reached through Facebook in one day. With the limited capacity at the Pirate Ship, ticketing has been set up through "Sticky Tickets" You can purchase your ticket by clicking on the logo below.
