Australian Opal Joins the Pirate Ship

South West Metro Basketball is proud to announce Nicole Seekamp to our Lady Pirates QBL Team.

Australian Gem's representative at the 2010 FIBA Oceania U18 Championships and Australian Institute of Sports rep. She later left abroad for the US playing for the University of South Dakota Coyotes where Nicole was awarded MVP at the 2014-2015 Summit League Tournament.

2016 she signed with the Polish club AZS PWSZ Gorzow Wielkopolski, following that season Seekamp returned to her home state for the 2017-2018 WNBL Season signing with the Adelaide Lightning.

2018 MVP recipient for the WNBL Adelaide Lightning, top 10 voting for the League in the WNBL and just yesterday Nicole was named in the Australian Women's Opals Basketball team for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

"I am absolutely thrilled to have Nicole join South West for the 2018 season. Having coached Nicole in the WNBL I can vouch for the calibre of a person she is and obviously the exemplary basketball player that she is. I am also truly excited for Basketball in South East Queensland because this shows first hand the sort of role models that we have for our young girls to come and watch, learn and can aspire to be.

Nood's (nickname) brings to us leadership, professionalism, scoring power, smarts and is the all-round player! Finally, this is the first Opal that has played for South West in a competition that is getting tougher every year, for Nicole to decide to play for us we feel very privileged" - Jason Chainey - Head Coach Lady Pirates

Welcome to the Pirate Ship Nicole.
