The New Life Restorations Pirates have bolstered their frontcourt for this year’s QBL campaign with the signature of Brisbane boy and University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) graduate James Ringholt.
The 2.08m post player will soon graduate from the NCAA D1 college after serving a four-year career for the Road Runners. Prior to accepting a scholarship to UTSA, James represented Queensland at the junior age national championships, was a member of the National Performance Program and attending Brisbane Boys College.
“We are really excited to have James join our club this season. He has learnt a lot from his time in the college system and is looking forward to continuing his basketball journey back in Brisbane. Once he graduates in May he will join the team a few weeks into the season and we can’t wait to work with him on our program”, Mick Downer Pirates Head Coach.
When asked about playing for the Pirates this season James was eager to say “I’m really excited to join the Pirates this season. My time over in the states has definitely prepared me to take my career to the next level. Really keen to get out on the court and help the boys work towards a QBL championship this year.”
