Welcome back to the Ship Kalani Purcell.

Having played for the Pirates at a Junior level, the association is so very excited to welcome back someone of Kalani's pedigree. Kalani is an outstanding player who has done more in her short career then some people will do across a lifetime.

A standout at Brigham University in the United States, Kalani was invited to WNBA camp with the Dallas wings where she clocked a couple of games in their preseason before she came home and was then quickly picked up by the Melbourne Bulleen Boomers in the WNBL, and was instrumental in getting the Boomers all the way through to the Grand final series.

‘Kalani is the final piece of our puzzle, she brings pure determination and grit to our team – she is a monster on the boards, defensive stopper, great passer of the ball and to top it off can score at will. Having all three Purcell sisters in the team at the same time is not only exciting for the Purcell family but instrumental for the pirates as we try to gear ourselves up for a very strong 2018 QBL competition. And of course she is a Purcell, she is a great teammate to have around and a pleasure to coach. - Head Coach Jason Chainey
